Château Haut Batailley er en anerkendt 5. Cru Classé beliggende i den sydlige del af Pauillac. Slottets nærmeste naboer tæller prominente ejendomme som Pichon Longueville, Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande og Château Latour.

Haut-Batailley har siden 1930'erne været ejet af familien Borie, som også stod bag ejendommen Ducru Beaucaillou. I foråret 2017 er ejendommen dog blevet opkøbt af familien Cazes, som står bag den kendte ejendom Lynch-Bages.

Al høst og den efterfølgende selektering sker med håndkraft. Maceration og gæring i temperaturkontrollerede ståltanke og efterfølgende lagring på barriques i ca. 20 måneder, hvor ca. 60% af fadene er nye.

"Blended of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon and 41% Merlot aging in 60% new barriques, the 2018 Haut Batailley is very deep purple-black in color and takes some coaxing to reveal profound notes of dark chocolate, crème de cassis, blueberry pie and anise with waves of raspberry pie, lavender and Indian spices. Full, very tightly would and jam-packed with layers of crunchy black and blue fruits, it has a firm line of ripe, grainy tannins and compelling freshness, finishing long with a mineral hint coming through."
